Colin Kaepernick stirred up more controversy today in conjunction with top shoe brand Nike. In addition to helping the brand win two top prizes at the Cannes/Lions Creativity in Advertising Awards last month, his input was a factor in pulling Nike’s “Betsy Ross Flag” sneakers just days before July 4th.
This, in what is becoming a more frequent social consciousness among brands, made us wonder about the Nike YouTube Channel and their Category as a whole:
Is Nike winning brand loyalists in the Activewear/Athletic Shoe Category?

Nike appears four times (five if you count their Jordan brand) on this list. That gives them two more spots than competitor Adidas. We think this is a strong indicator that the brand is connecting with viewers in a way that has them signing up to watch more.
